Festival Facts
Golden, Colo. — August 16 & 17

Type of Event:
Juried fine arts festival— all entries are juried by judges with art backgrounds

Dates/Times:
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18th and 19th

Projected 2008 Attendance:
17,500 visitors per day, total of 35,000 visitors throughout weekend

Bands and Vocal Artists:
Jazz music and other performers on two main stages, a Kids Art Zone stage and at least three other locations within just two blocks of the Festival

Carriage Rides:
The Festival sponsors free horse-drawn carriage rides and Chipmunk Express train rides throughout historic Golden

Free arts activities for children

Geographic Audience Draw:
Foothills and metro-Denver, 2 million-plus

Concessions:
Variety of food and beverage vendors, including beer

To Festival and all activity areas

Festival Location:
The Festival is held in historic downtown Golden on 11th Street just west of Washington Avenue between Arapahoe and Maple streets. The Festival is an open-air gallery in a lovely setting adjacent to tree-lined Clear Creek and has beautiful views of the foothills.

Other Activities:
The Golden Farmers Market will coincide with the Arts Festival with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 in the parking lot next to the Golden Library, just across the bridge from the Festival.
Clear Creek History Park will host free admission to its 1800s Arts & Trades Fair.

Parking:
Free parking is available throughout downtown Golden, including 2 300-space 3-story parking structure

Call for Entries:
Artist applications were distributed to 3,500 artists in Colorado and nationally, and press releases announcing the call for entries were sent to major Denver newspapers.
